hi all is it impossible to trace an imported z,s history who owned it etc where it lived previously and such cheers cully z:)

Virtually impossible unless you happen to have a contact in Japan.

However it is possible to verify whether the car it was it says on the VIN plate. If you email me a photo of that plate then I can do that for you.

Problem is that a huge percentage of cars sold in Japan go through the auctions and this is a virtually anonymous process. The Jap equivalent of an MOT, the Shaken, is much more stingent than in the uk and is intended to do away with the need to assess service histories etc (but Jap cars all have full main dealer histories anyway).

 

You may be able to track down the original auction sheet report if you know who imported the car into the uk, but not all importers keep this stuff after the car is sold on.
