Where to get power for front fog lights in engine fuse box.

Currently my front fogs (Nissan jap spec) are wired into my rear fog wiring (so you can switch em off/on) and I want to make them come on permently with the dipped beam. Then I can turn on my rear fog light next time it's foggy (well - the inner rear brake lights anyway!)

Anyone done this?

Which wire in the fuse box did you splice into?

Did you have to up the fuse?

Regards,

Jez.

Permently on fogs = fail MOT

Permently on fogs = £60 fine.

You sure want to do this?

You fog lights have to be able to be turned off by law, otherwise its an MOT fail.

Also having your foglighs on when its not foggy is also against the law and can result in a £60 fine. I have seen it happen. Usually you get a warning first, but if you then drive off after a warning with them still on they will probably think you are really thick and pull you again but for a fine this time.

Your best bet is to put another switch in the car just for your front fogs. But like I said, driving with your front fogs on when its not foggy is illegal. I am sure that you are only doing this to compensate for the shíte dips. I want to put fogs on mine for when I am on streets with no lights, but having them on all the time is asking for trouble.

I have seen some one pulled over for having fog lights on during the day.

Plus, people who drive with front fogs on all the time are ****ing dicks, its not like you can even see the ****ers from inside the car and it makes you look like a ****ing stupid idiot. Also see people who wear orange mirrored oakleys wires and with their arm out the window. ;) :D

the ;) :D doesnt apply to the original statement of fogs on all the time = ****ing idiot

No offence to you of course. :D

Well - there we go...

So I'd better wire up another switch in that case - good point about the mot.

And I'm going to leave them on all the time as they only really light up that section right in front of the car that the original dipped beams miss... they're not extra bright right in the face of on comming traffic... never had someone flash me *yet* unless I've got me main beams on... which is of course much more fun than leaving the fogs on! :D

Anyhow - back to the question - do you know which wire is a best to draw the power from in the fuse box... etc etc.
