jap warning lights

hi all

i have a problem with my 91 tt import. it seems to only be firing on 5 cylinders! i was driving along and the car was running fine, suddenly it seemed to loose a cylinder. a warning light now comes on intermitantly.

I dont know what this is for cos the manual I have is for the European model which doesn't include this in the dash warnings. It is on the left hand side of the dash under the speedo and looks like two parallel lines with a bulge in the middle and four squiggly lines (a bit like heat lines?) above it. It appears to be the middle light of a popssible five warning lights - can anyone enlighten me on what the problem may be or what the warning light is for. I continued to drive the car home and when stopped it did smell a bit hot although the temperature gauge was reading normal.

That sounds like the cat overheat warning light to me, ive neer seen mine, but from the large amount of time ive spent on here ive learnt that if youre running on 5 the unburnt fuel can egnite in the exhaust, thus overheating the cats.

Thanks,

I found the problem, one of the injector plugs had worked loose!

All seems to be well again:D At least I now what the light means now, it's very worrying when you don't!

Thanks again for your help.
