Resistors/electronics for bulbs

I'm completly stuffed on this one!

I've done a whole new rear cluster arraingment to use 'led' bulbs & stuff. Tail & b/light work well, but the indicator led's flash about 6 times faster than stock bulbs :(, looks pants. So i contacted the makers & they said some cars with a high relay output need a resistor in line @ the bulb to reduce the feed. Ok but they can't recomend a suitable 12v resistor for a Z.

Any ideas?

If you havent had a reply by tomorrow i can go out and measure the resistance of an indicator bulb, you can check the resistance of the led and you'll have the required resistance.

Or am i talking stupid here?

Sounds silly but why don't you wire a normal 21W indicator bulb inside the car (tucked behind the cluster cover) in parallel with your led indicator. Bulb holders are available from local parts factors. This will provide the same (slightly higher) load than the original setup correcting the fast flashing.

A 7ohm, 25watt wire wound resistor will also do if you can be bothered, personally the bulb option is preferable.

Paul.

p.s I am a sparky amoungst other things.

Many thanks,

Double up the bulbs exelent idea (feel silly now:p ) he he.
