I was thinking of modifying the tailgate of my fairlady to the 4 round lights style seen on many cars, but unforeseen circumstances won't allow this (financially).

 

However, on perusing the Zcentre website, I saw (under the bodykit 5 category) a 'black vinyl rear strip (part no: ZC016)' for £25.00.

 

There's only one picture of this on a red car, and it appears to go over the rear lights creating an illusion of 6 round rear lights, with a Z motif in the middle. This looks like an ideal alternative for me (for now), but there isn't really much info on this on the website.

 

Does anyone have this on their car, and if so, is it any good, and do they have any pics I could look at????

Noooooo, don't do it. Stuff like that looks terrible, just like the fake quad lamp conversions you see on escorts etc.

My mate had vinyl stuck on his tail lamps when he bought his S13 & it had to come off straight away as it just looked tacky TBH

 

Seriously though, just a waste of £25 IMHO

I had a long chat with Luke from the Z Centre a while ago about this stuff and he said if its put on well, which takes considerable time preferably with another person holding the vinyl while the other sticks it carefully in place, then from 6' away it looks alright but up close you can see what it is.

In the end because I modded my back with high rear spoiler and perspex piece I felt the back didn't need anymore work so I didn't try it.

originaly only until i got hold of better cond rear lenses/lights but still have them and get a lot of good comments, and they do grow on you.

the car is for sale because i have a phase 2 now and i would do it again if the presant rear ones were not blacked out which also looks coooooool
