I'm on about that switch to the left and slightly in front of the gear lever (auto). It looks a bit like a cigarette with an up & a down symbol at the side of it.

I have no hand book so I don't know all the things yet. Incidently, it has been disconnected.

Also incidently, if you are gay please do not be offended. I'm beginning to wonder if the gay thing has been a good idea?

Just as a slightly gay guess I'd say that it's an aftermarket switch for something like one of those little electric parking aerial type thinks that they often use in Japan

Andy's right although it's probably not aftermarket. It was a factory option for short people who can't park. No offense to short people. Or people who can't park. Or markets.

you may be right there as I have what looks like an arial on the passenger side bumper, which doesnt work (cos its disconnected?)

 

Although I am not short and can park. Though I should say that my ability to get long red things into tight spaces in no way implies a desire to to wedge anything else long or red into any spaces or voids, tight or otherwise. Nor does my claim to "not be short" imply that I think there is anything wrong with people who are short. Some of my best friends are short!:)

Looks like a fag with a light on the end? Its the nasty switches that come with I think an older PIAA lighting kit in Japan. I have seen loads of them on earlier Pajeros and the like. PIAA have changed the switch now to be less fag like.
