Righty ho... following up on my own post (safety boost), I've done an engine diagnostic (how do you get it out of it now ? even taking key out and back in ,and it's still flashing away at me ?)

anyway, it's a det sensor disconnected code 34

and a engine temp sensor disconnected code 13 ( might explain why plenum was hotter than the sun... hopefully ok...)

so.. where exactly is the plug for the det sensor ?

and where is the lead for the temp sensor as these have clearly not been reconnected properly when they replaced clutch/pipes (they had an abortive attempt at removing the plenum, so it's possible summit is not reconnected up there).

The Det sensor is the one with the red cap, left center

The temp sensor is the yellow one (may be different colour on your car).

unforunately the thing still won't start any more...
