Trying to print something off the internet ( no, not that!!) and I can't do it!

I can print off things from word, outlook and photos etc, but not off the internet!!:(

It says after the exclamation mark in a yellow triangle- an error has occured on this page....then there's a list of stuff...and at the end it says..do you want to continue running scripts...yes or no!!

I'm totally confused (not hard I know!!) please help.

Cheers,

F.T.

It could be your security settings in the Tools / Options menu There are some scripting settings.

Thanks Bilky, but unfortunately that's clear as mud!!

Any ideas what I should change the settings to?

I don't want to f*ck the computer up by doing things I know nothing about!

Cheers,

F.T.

A workaround is click in the Browser window that you want to print and then press Alt-PrintScrn.

Then open up Word and press Alt-V and a bitmap copy of the window is pasted into word - then print.

No pretty but it works - a bit like me!

Sounds like it's a JavaScript error, which is related to that particular web-site rather than the internet in general. It's likely that you're printing something using a "print" button on the web page rather than printing directly from the browser. Try CTRL+P on the keyboard (or File|Print from the browser menu) to print the page

Otherwise, you can say "no" to stop running the scripts - you may still get something, from which you can print.

Good luck!

Russ.

Tony - is that from every site you visit or just some?

Try doing Zimon's trick when you get the problem and e-mail the document to me at gio@beyondsl.net

Cheers - Gio

Yes it's every site!!

What is a browser window?

I'm sorry I've tried going to file and then print from there and nothing!!

Stupid computer!!!

A browser window it the window you are looking at now reading this. This is 1 browser window.

Do you have any other Internet Explorer windows open? Cos that is another browser window.

What happens when you goto file, print?

Does the print box open up?

What happens when you click print?

Stuart

I dont have a printer, noor am i a computer guru so i cant help mate.

(i can nip out and take a picture of the car if that helps??)

A possible answer to this is to use the "right-click" menu. i.e. click with the right mouse button on the picture, a menu will pop up, you will have the option to "print" or "save as", as well as some other junk. You could try saving the picture to your local(c:\) drive, or printing from that menu....

No it's a Lexmark X73 and a Packard Bell computer.

Thanks for everyones advice, but being the complete muppet that I am when it comes to computers, I'll have to give PC World a ring and see if they can 'talk ' me through it!!

Cheers,

F.T.

i used to work in pc world and see this all the time, but cant for the life of me think of the solution, i belieive its some kinda windows problem, try reinstalling the latest drivers and resetting all the explorer settings to default,

AAAARRRGHH. Don't do it! That's like taking your Z to Halfords( and on a saturday afternoon, at that!). You're better off asking the small piece of belly buttun fluff that you've been collecting:D

Do you have XP?

COs if you do I can do that assist over Messenger.

Stuart

Yes and no!!

I've got XP but I am not on messenger!!

As for PC World then I don't have another option really?

Cheers,

F.T.

Sorry, FT, Know that wasn't much use. If you go to the help section in XP, you can "request" help from another user.. Maybe you and SRRAE can go that way. If not I'll have a look, but am using a V slow connection, so would take a while.:(

Hello mate hope i can help

Sounds like a javascript error like someone else said

this is common in Internet explorer (or exploder as we It people call it)

If you do print of the menu then this happend? or are you just pressing the print icon?

Do you have broadband, if yes then i could vnc to your computer and see whats up (this is where i can take control of your pc)

Other suggestions are that you down load opera or mozilla whiich are 2 different free browser that are a little more stable than internet explorer

Are you running version 6 of Internet explorer (should tell you under help)

Maybe go to windows update (off the start bar) and install any critercal update)

If you are the person who lives in everley then i dont mind coming to visit and help if you want.

Warning PC world people are monkey (sorry person who worked there)

I am problem not the best person at computer on here but have been doing programming, webdesign, networking and all other stuff for 13 years (yep i started at 9 with atari xl 800)
