Few probs with 91 auto TT

I'm hearing a clicking sound (3 clicks) about every 15-20 secs, it's coming from under the dash, behind the air con unit.

I've tried switching the modes of the air con but no joy. But it does stop when I turn the De-mister on. Problem is, can't use the air con without it doing my head in.

Any ideas ??

Occasionaly car cuts out.

This happens sometimes when i come to a halt (not too suddenly). Only when i've been driving for a couple of minutes, after it warms up it's fine. Could this be the PTU?

Also, has anyone figured out a way to stop people staring, someones going to do their neck some damage soon.

Cheers

The PTU only tends to be aproblem when its warm - when you start it up does it idle at around 1500 rpm? and then slowly drop back to around 700-800 rpm? If it doesnt it could be one of the cold start valves at the back of the engine - I cant remember its name off hand but someone on here will!
