Does that ring a bell and what does it do.

I went to have the brakes checked and the drivers side rear caliper was not working so had the wheel off and checked the caliper and that was fine, so the mechanic said it must be the load sensor. So how do i check this and what do i need to replace.

Also will a diagnostic check bring this up, i had a word with Nissan today and they said half and hours worth of labour to do a diagnostic check at a charge of £27.50+vat.

Any help would be gr8.

i think they probably mean a brake compensator valve.

as our vehicles have ABS, i dont think there is one - certainly cant find reference to it in the manual, although iv not physically looked for one.

they are there (on vehicles that have them) to stop the rear wheels from locking if there is no load in the rear. they reduce the pressure to the rear brakes.

But on ABS vehicles, the ABS stops any wheels from locking anyway.

BTW, they are mechanical devices not electrical anyway. :)

Mmm..maybe there is more to this could be the flexible hose has collapsed internally, the only valving is the reducing valve to prevent premature rear wheel lock up and that`s built into the master cylinder.

Try bleeding that caliper and see if any fluid can be forced through, I really think the caliper is seized or the flexible pipe collapsed.

Someone has possibly crushed one of the hard brake pipes so it no longer passes fluid.... Could be done by jacking the car etc... Pull the brake line off the caliper and see if any fluid passes out when the pedal is depressed. Then do the same at the ABS unit in the boot. You'll eventually trace where the pipe is blocked from.... ;)

Nice one guys and thanks for the advice. I had the caliper checked and they even bleeded it, and it was fine but still no brakes there, so what do you reckon is the best path now.

Any advice would be gr8.

Cheers

You say they checked the caliper, have they proven that the pistons are not seized ?
