Any one bought a 300zx Imported from Japan through auctions??Need Help please!

Hello, I am seeking some help, I actually live in Spain and have been checking with different UK companys on buying a 300zx.They are way much cheaper in the UK than rest of europe. I contacted this site called http://www.bonsaicars.com and what they do is that you pick the 300zx from their auctions daily in Japan then they import the car for you to the UK.

What I need to know is; if anybody has done this before and is it safe? reliable? trusted?? I am complete lost and maybe afraid I get somehow ripped off? many Uk company do this like http://www.neweraimports.com or http://www. goulders.com etc etc.

Please can anyone reply me on this matter? would be so so appreciated and would surely help some advices.Thank you!:) :(

Have you considered importing from the US ? You'd get a LHD and American is alot easier to understand than Japanese !

hmm... just had a look at their site too, seems interesting... is there anything bad about an import over a uk model (i just want a tt 2+2), the parts issue was mentioned a few times... ? cause i can afford a series 3 from them...

plus it sounds cool to say your car is japanese :) (well i think so anyways :) )

Dear Andy the reason USA imports are not imported is because they normally dont have any agreement like the UK has with Japan specs. For 7000 euros u get the car included shipping from the japan to the uk and they will take care of the rest. But If you bought it from the USA you would have to pay the shipping, wich is almost the same prize as the car. Not worth it, trust me.You imagine if you had to pay the shipping from Japan to the Uk how much it would cost?? not even mention! jaja!

£450.00. shipping.......Japan to UK

There are a few guys who have imported Zs from the US (to convert to RHD) over on http://www.zclub.net so they might be worth a try. Also ask on http://www.twinturbo.net - being US based they may know more.

The cost of shipping from the US can't be that bad - it was worth my mate bringing his poxy Golf back from Canada.

Good luck - Gio

Just enter car shipping america (or whatever the spanish is) in to google (or whatever your fav searchy thing is). Looks like shipping a standard size car from US is around the $500 mark plus customs duty / clearance.

But I am sure you will have equally good shippers in Spain - why not ask them?

hehehe sorry couldn't help it :D :D . The insurance people used to wind me up by saying "we'll have to charge you loads of money because your car is a Japanese import" to which I once replied "they're all imported from Japan you f*ckwit".

Don't know about targa/non-targa - pperhaps there's something on the model guides on http://www.300zx.org.uk

I've had a Jap 2+2 TT since Aug 1999 and once you've found here and http://www.zclub.net and http://www.mjpauto.com you'll find running a J model is not a problem Insurance can be a PITA, though but everyone seems to solve that one sooner or later.

More stuff on my crap and out-of-date website in the sig.
