Would it be possible to do an insurance links section (Hint: possible financial benefit - to the club of course )

The number of times I have seen posts about people asking for ins. companies etc..... I am not complaining about the posts - I just think it would be more helpful if there were dedicated links with the possibility of people adding their own to keep admin down??? Maybe have its own section (on the left)....???? I dunno!!!

Seeing as tho most folks here are in IT, Craig, why not farm out some of the ideas for the site to those clever buggers that know a little html/web design??

It has godda take ages to compile a hyperlink page full of insurance company names, so why not ask someone else to put it together and upload>??

I am sad and would quite happily put together a tech link page for you, something relative to UK Zedderz, I could prolly do it from memory - I lived and breathed Z related tech stuff before I finally got my car!!

I think what the suggestions are aiming towards are some sort of hyperlinked FAQ.. normal FAQ's are bloody labourious, but a context related help page would be cool.

I think.

But I have had 4 cans of Strongbow so there is every chance that I am chatting out of me arse.

with regards to links, in the contacts&links sections, you can add links and show them, thanks to some stuff provided by martin. this would be a good start for that sort of stuff

 

if any of you want to go back through the forum postings etc, and come up with some web pages to put on the site, please do.

 

let me know when you have something done, and i can then try and give you access, or get you to email me the pages so i can put them up.

 

There have been loads of subjects that could be covered and i have made notes of, but dont have time to collate

 

What to look for when buying a Z ?

 

petrol smell ?

 

hicas/steering/suspension/bad handling...

 

which insurance company ?

The trouble with tech. pages and links is you end up with nothing to talk about with new members to the site.

Let's not end up like some of the US sites, where you get your head bitten off if you ask a question that's been asked before,and people get generally abusive towards one another!

With items like insurance, it's a living topic, where company's and premiums are constantly changing, and so the info. needs to be constantly updated and new input should be welcomed.

Topics such as headlight bulbs etc. can obviously have their own link.

Yeah, nice one Jez mate! I agree with that, this forum is unique because technical issues are dealt with but there is also an excellent atmosphere on here.

 

I've got logins on other forums, TT.net being one, and to be honest I can't see myself posting. People do bite your head off if you ask anything, and having signatures with "Come on in if you dare, I'll blow your f**kin' head off if you touch my Z!" are a little over the top me thinks!

 

Mind you the yanks are all living in Teletubby land I reckon! Some guy has just been ousted from Big Brother for holding a knife to a girls throat and asking her if it would be cool if he slit her throat and would she be mad at him! WTF is that all about???

 

Nutters, all of them, and I know first hand coz I used to live next door to one...looneys!

 

So, let's keep it real, this site has the most to offer in my opinion! Don't change to much, to fast!

if a questions gets asked over and over again, because people refuse to browse through older messages, it might get a little annoying..
