WTF.

How did he go head on into a barrier? Surely their must have been some protection there. I cant think of any major UK track that has unprotected barriers on fast corners.

Sad to see.

Stunned to the point of silence.

R.I.P. Daijiro.

Utter disbelief. :( I have been checking on his progress since watching his crash on Eurosport, he made a small improvement a few days after crashing and I thought he was going to be on the long road to 'recovery'.

But now he has died????? I am really shocked to the core.

R.I.P. Daijiro Kato, my thoughts go out to your Wife and Children.

Stuart, he crashed in Suzuka in Japan. The opening round for the 2003 motorcycle GP series.

They have redesigned the last chicaine (which is taken in 1st gear) from last year and this is where he crashed. The Moto-GP bikes are only approaching this at 180+mph....:(

Big questions are being asked about the way he was handled straight after the accident....Can't say anymore here bec I don't wanna speak out of turn, but if you check the bike press this week, I am sure it will enlighten you all.

He will be sadly missed, mainly due to the fact he need not have been missed...
