Took off thwe front panel and found this bugger sat therec:\my documents\my pictures\me\toys\mcv-596f.jpg

Now I know what it is, but dont know whether its a good make ( is there a bad make?)

Also, is the black tube on top the o2 sensor?

ok its an induction cone with RAID HP on the filter. it is connected to a black plastic cylinder with NISSAN on it with metal mesh on either end and what appears to be a sensor in the middle. There is a connector to the "sensor " on the outside

also, would this mean that the guy who fitted the induction cone fitted a chip? if so how can I check?

cant help with the make, but the bit its bolted to is the air mass sensor, O2 sensors are in the exhaust.

& no, it doesnt ness mean a chip is fitted, you will have to remove & open up the ECU to check - if its got a chip in a socket rather than all being soldered to the board then chances are its been chipped :)

That'll be £30 extra on your insurance, ta very much - thats what they did to me!

Now you know you've got an intake kit you're more likely to prang it!

its just as well they dont know me, as giving me the keys made me more likely to prang it and the only thing likely to lower the risk is somebody taking them back off me ( unlikely.lol)
