I was at the Japuk meeting at mascrat manor last night and a guy from Middlehursts turned up in his R34. Clutched in his hot little hand was his (laminated!!) dyno sheet with 319bhp listed. Laugh I nearly shat:D mines still not running right and even without the bigger injectors its still making 387;) .

But to my credit I didnt point that out. Well not more than once anyway:p :D

I would but tbh i dont stand a chance and im after some reliablity lol, there is no way i can compete with guys spending 20+k on engine mods.

300z

I apologise, you must have read my post as if I was posting it aggressively, I was getting at the fact that the skyline brakes are 'better' than the zx brakes, not the skyline brakes are crap in the grand scheme of things.

Am I correct in the assumption that the majority of skyline brake upgrades happen because of the fact that a set of brakes have become available as the skyline owner has upgraded their brakes, I think I am. If the calipers are purchased new then fair enough, Id assumed they werent.

The skyline brakes look very nice indeed. I was considering using the calipers, but I got some different ones at a good price.

nah your right they are waay better but liek you say in the grand scheme of things overall they are not that good. Stoptech in the states do fantastic kits, as do ALCON - WILWOOD -AP aswell.

Brembo of couse rule the roost :D

Well said 300z you do know your brakes thats why mine must stop that quick. Got 365mm dia 14" drilled brembo :D :D :D

As we are on the topic of brakes - which component is it that makes the ZX brakes so poor - we share the same calipers and pads as the R32 Skyline - is it the Master Cylinder thats not up to the job? or is it the discs that arnt big enough?

Bilky.......I have pretty large discs on mine but the original calipers and my brakes are still pretty poo! Or maybe I'm expecting too much?

The r32 brakes are as bad as the 300's lol, the brakes anrt that bad in truth if maintained 100% when i went aroudn the Nurburgring with this German lady who had a stock 300zx (shes a proffesional driver) the brakes were fine and we flew around there, but then her car was in fantastic nick.

But bigger calipers = larger surface area for braking.

as does bigger discs.

It's all in the disc, the Z has a 280mm disc fitted on the front, that is way too small for a car of that weight:(

I'm guessing my discs are about 350mm and I'm still not impressed.......and I know the pistons are working ok. As I said, maybe I expect too much for a heavy car like the Z.

No I never said my car was the fastest on here,I did say I have yet to be cained by another 300.

I do plan to do some serious mods this year 15k+ at least then the car will be a true beast from the East;)

MartinF can vouch he has a manual running 14psi ask him;)

Ginger bollocks wont admit it,but I kicked his big blower ass last year with ease!

Elmo yet another victim:D

Jaylox new engine and 25 car lengths up on him.

Tezza 94 car.

PaulG manual driver, got a shock when he drove it.

Timmy Turbot shit his pants and could not beleive he had the same car LOL

The list goes on,at the end of the day auto or manual it don't matter, all I am proving is that the auto is no slouch;)

Top reZpect to an incredible AUTO.;) You considered lightening the car a little to giove it even more of an edge ?

You could ditch...spare wheel, tool kit, rear seats, rear matting, boot blind for starters (they weigh more than u think). When I put the dynamat/brown bread in, I'm going to see how much all the sound deadening/insulation weighs. If this is replaced with the dynamat/brown bread, then the car will be better (ie. a little lighter and quieter).

You will already have lost some weight by ditching the cats, stock spoiler, stock alloys etc.. I know sound systems weigh something, but they are essential ;) Further weight reduction mods would cost a lot of ££££, but lighter is a very important improvement to any car. There will always be lighter cars than a 300, but lighter is better for performance.

:D yeah forgot you weigh nearly as much as a small car FFS ;) :D

Duffer shud have a distinct advantage, as the spare tyre probably weighs more than him if rumours are true :D
