Got a lovely smell of petrol when driving around and stood still! [engine off] getting to like it but its no good for the wallet!!!! i know this can be a problem on these cars and have read a few threads about it but i have looked around under the bonnet and cannot see any thing that looks damp!!!!!!

any help on this matter would help, as i said getting hooked on the smell!!

cheers

just a thought but both of mine suffered from this.....leave the ignition on then lift the bonnet, this will allow the pump to keep pressure...then check the hose's leading to the filter....and from it......and also check the pipes at the rear of the engine......it sounds like it is coming from under the bonnet because you may not smell it while driving if it was elsewhere?....

just a thought.....hope you find it....;)

Check my site Dave under Enginee..fuel lines.

If the smell goes away when the car warms up, then you can bet your ass that it's loose clamps on the fuel lines. If it's still present then you got a bigger problem, maybe a split line. It's worth tightening the hoses up anyway just to be on the safe side.

YHM.......mate..
