Took the wheels off and .....

Nice day today so I decided to paint my calipers :D.

 

When I took the back wheel off I notice this !!!!!:eek:

 

A little on the worn side wouldn't you say.

Correct(ish) ;) To properly replace the rubber you need to remove the shock. However, get a universal boot from Halfords and slice it vertically, place it around the shock, and tie-wrap it top and bottom - hey presto £5 instead of over £100 ;) Yes it isn't perfect but most of the time shocks are still 100% so why replace them??? You can't really age a shock by distance - there are far too many factors that affect their lifespan - its broken when it doesn't dampen the motion of the suspension isn't damped, not when you think it should have gone by.
