Hi all

I've been hiding for some time after becoming a hermit in order to pass the professional exams I recently finished (honestly, 24 and still doing homework!! lol) However, I now have a week off work and am hoping to find a Zed after a ride in Chris0r's a month or so ago made my indecisive mind up for me.. on 2 fronts.

a) Yes, I must have a Zed TT ;)

b) It should be as pukka as his is, but a manual.

Despite my hermitry, I have kept a close eye on Autotrader and this site, and have found 3 Zeds worthy of closer inspection:

1) £5,950 K reg UK Manual. Mark (TOPLESS)'s TT. Red

2) 1990 H Reg Nissan 300 ZX Manual Twin Turbo In Silver. 69,000 kms, Arriving Late April £5,995 - from Zubimotors Ltd.

3) 1990, H reg. 58000 miles, Black leather, long MoT, tax, £1000s spent, £3,950 - private ad from Autotrader.

Now, as I have mentioned in earlier posts, my under the bonnet knowledge is limited, so I was going to ask Jeff to inspect the car for me. Unfortunately, all 3 are in London.

I would have thought Mark's will be tip-top anyway, but has anyone heard of/used Zubimotors before? (Seem to have a large stock of usual imported jap cars - FTOs, Supras etc).

Also, 3) looks like excellent value (the pic on the site looks like car is stock and tidy). Surely there must be problems if he's selling at that price? (Would love a black one, but silver also nice, and red ok).

Any comments gratefully received!

Cheers

Ben

Are you sure No.3 is a twin turbo?

For that price seems more likely to be an N/A.

Cheers,

F.T.:D

Exactly! Sounds too good to be true, right?!

Defo a TT, can just about make out tell-tale ducts on pic (bit dark).

I would have thought it's gotta be worth a look at that price? Would anyone living in the London area be kind enough to help a newbie appraise the car this week sometime? (Costs obviously reimbursed) Appears to be in or very near Enfield.

Cheers

Hello chaps,

Been reading lots of stuff lately - lots of useful info.

Anyway, I have bought that Z. Yeah, popped down there friday. It was imported in february 2002. Checked it out as best I could (from what I've learned from this site), turbo's seemed ok (no smoke, burning smell or noise), engine seemed quiet. Gears all smooth. But it was cheap so hopefully I haven't missed anything and bought a right lemon. You all will be hearing about it if I have.

Pick it up later on tonight - let you know if it makes it home!

..oh yeah Ben, this one is still for sale:

NISSAN 300ZX COUPE SPORT 3.0 TWIN TURBO 24V T-BAR 2DR PETROL AUTO MET RED, '91(H), 79,000M, IMPORT, FSH, EL

WINDS, PAS, CD, CLIMATE CONTROL, CENT LOCK, ALARM, EX COND, TAX & MOT JUL, £4000 ono.

Ad came from fish4cars, I have the guys number he called me today to see if I was interested. He's in Reading. I have the number if you're interested.

Uhh - see b) above!;)

Lots of luck with your acquisition!

I did a search for Zubimotors but no posts unfortunately. I guess no-one's ever used them?

There was a uk tt man 4 sale in trowbridge last week.

i went to see it with my bro nice car met grey good cond 120k lots of history.

The reason he never brought was he would like to put strozec type kit on it and the seller wouldnt budge below £5800

but a nice car never the less

cheers

Dave :D

Thanks for the info Dave. Presumably not thru Autotrader - do you have the guys number or where u got info from at all?

No-one able to aid me on my Enfield mission?:(

hi Ice cool - the going prices in other car mags can be around £4900.

I'm not far from Enfield but won't be able to go this week - sorry.

Anyway - just take care and find a good one.

Best of luck.

Geoff.

Thanks for the thought Geoff, shame you are busy:(

I think I'm going to try having a look myself tomorrow if the guy is free at some stage. Bit of a trek, so any pearls of wisdom which don't appear in the FAQ which I should particularly look for to find out why it seems so cheap?

I'm gonna have a go at the ECU diag if car feels anything other than lightening fast.

Cheers

Ben
