I'm on my way to Tesco last night, TVR goes past me with some young lad in with one of them stupid Badly Drawn Boy tea cosy type hats on his Right Said Fred! Muppet! ;)

Not sure what type it was, very low down, N reg I think...twin pipes, round arse looking from the rear.

Soooo, I get to the traffic lights at Valley and turn right to pull into the petrol station. What pulls in behind me at the pump across from me? TreVoR! They sound awesome!

Well I'm skint so am putting about a fiver in, he on the other hand is filling up. So I go and pay and this cracked me up big time. He is paying as I'm walking back to my car and there is this young kid walking past my car going "What a wicked car!" at mine he never even looked at the TreVoR...LOL :D

So as I start mine up I see him legging it back to his car, so I thought "I know where this is going!" and head off down the road to get a good start on him.

Anyone who may know the road from Valley to Holyhead will know that it's like the best straight in the world for bollox out acceleration. All the time I'm watching my rear view mirror waiting for him to bolt out of the traps. I'm now doing about a oner and I see him...so I floor it as I've got a good half mile or so up on him. FVCK ME!!! How fvcking rapid are they??? I'm hoofing it and expecting to keep him away so that I can get to the roundabout before him and cruise into Tesco but he's caught up with me in secs! FFS! :D

Two cars are in front of me but I leave the door open and he comes rifling past me. He had a brake light out though, typical TreVoR!!! LMFAO :D

can u mod a TVR, or are they already at a high level of tuning ?

a stock zed is way below it's ultimate power potential as we all know.

Not sure bud, your mass theory comes into play with a TVR, negat weight and all cubes! They used to use the Range Rover engines, V8, which used to hoof our Range Rovers around quite swiftly for a bulky four wheeler so god knows what they are like, tuned, in a plastic rocket???

They sound so cool though! I want one! ;)

Chimaera's are easy game - probably a Griffiths 500; you do need your seatbelt in that !

If you keep 'em in sight for a couple of miles you're usually ok 'cause it's bound to break down :D

Colleague has a Tuscan. It's done 17,000 miles and it's just come back from TVR having had an engine rebuild. They did pay for 40% as it's a known fault. 40% ????

He's also previously had a new rad and water pump from previous breakdowns - and we thought we had problems ! :D

If you want a big-engined rocket buy a Viper - now they DO sound good ! ;)

Yeah, driven one, like a rocket assisted blamange ! Does 0 to 100 in a silly time and would probably do the same towing a caravan or a coach. Shite suspension and handling though - seriously point and squirt.

All torque, no action eh ? ;)

The TVR's are rapid, 240 horses as standard but they are made of fibre glass so weigh next to nothing. Very quick acceleration from the 4.0 Rover engine which has been tuned to the max. Lovely cars but unreliable, my brother just had a bill of 1000+ recently. Mind you owning a sports car is expensive.

I cleaned my airfilter today and blimey what a difference it made extra power. Whhhhayyyyy

has anyone seen the clarkson vid (stupid question?!) where he did a test for the fastest car over a standing mile? tvr cerbera, aston vanquish, dodge viper, 911 turbo, chateram and a lotus i think - at about 1/2 mile the tvr cerbera came from near the back of the pack and pi$$ed on everything else, it was pretty impressive!!!

Wasn't it just an RT10 Viper though ?

Would have been significantly quicker if it had been an SRT-10, or even a GTS. ;)

And it must have been trick photography - the TVR didn't break down :D

Yeah only for it to turn out the Cerbra that day was a special for the Boss Peter Wheeler, and rumered to be closer to 600 bhp than what it should have been.

TVR are renowned for this, Remember trax, 2 4.5 Cerbras - Numerous runs and no where near under 5 sec- 60.

its a case of "ither they go like mad and brake down every 50 miles :D or are incosistent and not very fast while still braking down every 50 miles lmao"

Anyone thought of making up a set of fibreglass panels for the Z to make it lighter? Doors, bonnet, boot etc. No rust either.
