All,

Am still comtemplating who to get to fit my Stage 2 turbos froms smithy. They'll be arriving early next week so I need to get the car booked in somwhere very soon.

ANyone used Silvia Engineering? Or know of anyone near Oxford/northants/birmingham way who trustworthy working on a zed?

I havent used them myself but I have heard that syvia engineering are very good, not cheap however, but what is on a zed? I had heard stories of people having to wait ages to get their car back from them, but this is down to giving them too short notice i believe that if you book the car in on a pre arranged date and agree a pick up date you should have no probs, however dont expect them to book you in next week as i believe they have quite a waiting list.

You can give Jeff at Zedworld a call, site is in the links on this site he might be able to get you in a bit sooner, i can vouch for him as ive used zedworld on many occasions with no probs, as have many others on here.

Good luck

I've used them quite a lot, but they're just down the road from me. I think they're OK, but opinions may differ based on personal experiences.

There is a garage called Westfields that actually specialise in Toyotas who seem pretty good, they are in Rawreth near Rayleigh (Essex) and come fairly highly recommended by the MR2 mob, plus they claim to have done quite a few 300zx turbo replacements without pulling the engine.

Then if you're heading even further south there is Z demi-god Darren who is around Kent somewhere. Mark (Topless) has his contact info.

I have been using Silvia Engineering for 3 years and have nothing but praise in regard to knowledge, work and looking after the customer.

I have to say the same John;)

On Sylvia Engineering - now called Nissan SE - I have heard that he's got financial problems, so I would be careful.

Geoff.

Jezz has posted up just one link there re: my car. Believe me there are several others.

Its taken a whole 14 months and a massive 7 engine rebuilds to get to where my car is today - still in the workshop :(

To be fair, its not all been their fault, and pete at SE's is a very nice guy - they do turn out some very very nice cars. But the whole experience has been a complete nightmare and if id have known how this was to turn out i would have sold the car a long, long time ago cos its just not been worth the stress.

oh, and - re: the time delays. My car was "booked in" the start of may, and came out in late october/early november - just for a bottom end rebuild. This time, my car was supposed to be there for 3 days tops - its now a month.

Hopefully i should have it back tomorrow - and id like to say this will be the end of my worries, but excuse me if im a little sceptic :(

again based on personal experience id much sooner cut both my legs of than use that company ever again.

in fairness i think this is just a rumour. I would be suprised if they have a problem in that area (after all, i have bankrolled em ;) )

Jesus arry!! How long????

I cant be doing with being pi55ed about like that!

I have called Jeff at Zedworld and he has said that he MAY take the car on next week if he goes ahead with getting his new ramp.

I would much rather take it to Jeff as I feel as though I can trust him.

But then Option Motorsport are 7 miles away and quoted about a grand for the job + pipes needed etc..........

Anyone used Option Motorsport?

I think i saw a T-shirt that quoted : 'we've got your money, now F*** off'

and i believe it had the SE logo on it. Can someone confirm this? :D

Wow, there really is a t-shirt that says that.

By the looks of things it seems as though I am better of avoiding Silvia Engineering.

Thanks very much for the advice guys, I am sure you have saved me loads of heartache.

Gonna find out more about Option Motorsport I think.;)
