Hey lads,

Just got back from dover in my 300zx!! and its awsome! it took me 7half hours due to traffic around birmingham!. Its absolutly immaculate throughout - I dont think i could have asked for a nicer example. Its got 18' volks racing split rims on it, veilside ex system, aftermarket skirts and mirrors - Oh and its been lowered. Their are no engine mods apart from this "HKS boost valve controller" The jap importer said that who ever set it up in japan had made a good job of it and what ever happens dont touch it!!!

What the hell is it! - also he said their are 4 settings on it?

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Tom

Is their anything I need to Check with the car other than basics? (oil, water, plugs etc)

Their is also a sqeeking type nose coming from in the car when ur moving, the more bumps you go over the more anoying it is!! - i dont think ill ever find it but any idears???

Cheeers !

Sounds good !

The squeak is probably the bonnet catch. Bit of grease on the catch or adjustment on the rubber stops should do the trick.

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH........

There, thats better. Its just that's what SE said a sqeak I had was. It was in for a service so I asked them to sort it at the same time. They greased up the bonnet catch..........drove off.........still squeaking...........turned around and went back.........they said the top of the shock mount was shot........booked it back in..........(and its quite a way from where I live-but hey, I heard SE are the bollox) took it back.......waited........drove off.........SQUEAK!!! FFS!!!!!!!!!

Now I'm pretty sure I can find a squeak myself, its just that they were TELLING me what it was so I didn't investigate....... turned around and its now up on the ramps and Peter is desperately spraying gallons of WD40 everywhere to try and stop this fkin squeak..............drove off.............(you guessed it) still sqeaks like a good 'un.

Phoned them up, said thanx for nothing, got home and pretty easily sussed it was the upper mount of the front left suspension.

Put a call into AndyZ, collected said bush/mount and hey presto..............SE are tossers and squeak gone.

The End. (sorry-that just provoked a bit of emotion there when I read Andy's reply............I'm sure your squeak IS the bonnet catch! LOL. ;)

...and the moral of James' story is that sometimes the polyurethene bushes on the suspension can squeak a bit, as did mine when they were first put on (seem to have shut up now though - my local area is sleeping-policeman-ville.)

Only other thing I'd say (before mountains of other people do!) is that you should make sure the timing belt is OK, and has been replaced after 60 thousand miles. You DON'T want that to go!

Have fun in it - but be careful!!

Russ.
