When driving in pretty much a straight line for around 20 mins(motorway cruising etc) my Hicas light comes on and I seem to have to steer very slightly left to go in a straight line.

As soon as i get to corners/twisties etc the steering rectifies itself but the Hicas light stays on until I turn off the engine - then when I restart everthing is ok again.

I dont get this problem at all driving on normal roads (i.e. anything with corners in).

Any thoughts?

You probbaly need to check whether your steering wheel is centered properely. Try a search ...

I've not long had laser wheel alignment done at demon tweeks, cos before that I was steering right all the time....

I have the same problem with my Hicas just like yours.. I'm very tempted to get a Hicas eliminator... posted this problem on this site before... some for it some against...

Even tho' I had my suspension checked and bushes replaced, the hicas light don't come on anymore... I wanna say goodbye to it...

;)

Its definately got to do with the steering wheel not being alingned properly on the actual steering rac. there is a hicas sensor on the hub which is nto aligned properly.
