Why pay big money for Plugs get a set of NGK BCR8ES or BCR7ES.

depends on your boost setting they retail for £1.52 + Vat.

they work fine and no power loss.

We use them in our 8ltr big block chevy V8 600 BHP (more with NOS) 280ZX Drag car(8.49 at 168mph) as well as in my 300zx 18psi boost. been using this plug forever.

So if the mechanic tells you this is Crap then you can see for your self at the pod or Avon park.

the triple electrobe plugs and split fire type plugs are no better than the above we have tried them on the track and found NO power Difference.they are only good if you do not service your car every 10,000miles. mines done every 6000.

jap 300zx owned last 6 years. 12.96 1/4 mile 114 mph!

all mods done by me at a quarter of the cost.

no body kit! no high spoiler to slow it down!

Fair enough, Nelson, beer it is then - sorry for trying to poison you with chemical fizz.

I was working on the assumption that oop north = lager swillers. I apologise to any and all good, kind sensitive oop north proper beer drinkers. :D ;)

also cost: £1.52 for a plug which lasts 10k miles. plat plugs last 60k miles so 6x £1.52 = £9.12. like you say you can get plat plugs for aroun £8 ea so it also works out more expensive in the long run

Far too late in the week for that kind of maths !

lol

i have owned my z for 6 years now the boost has been set at 14psi for at least 5 of those,( but the engine is well serviced and looked after)

for the last two years i have only used it for 6 months of the year (summer and cost ).

Yes plat plugs are good but if you service the car yourself , and are on a tight budget then you can use these copper plugs of the right heat range. 7 or 8's

I only do about 4000miles in summer on my Z so like to service b4 and after I use it (just the oil.its still started during winter), so plat plugs to me are a waste.

the last time i ran it on the track was at Avon park 3 years ago.

without the Nos.

Come and talk to us i am always open to swap ideas or debates.

but please no more fxxkin spark plugs!!!! :)

I dont own a large garage, only have the usual tools, work from my small garage at home. but after racing for last 14 years have ganed alot of experience.

from building my first race car a 280bhp preferal port rotary rx7.

N/A Z32 motor

to Rover V8 and small block chevy to big block chevy and have been sold stuff in the past that just did not give me any more power( although they claimed it did) now age has made me wiser some would say.

oh and no spare wheel or those heavy wieght carpets.... :)

so if you want to give it a go turn up at the Z club drag meets. contact Mike Feeney at http://www.mjpauto.com/ for the dates.

regards

Hizus

have you got a dyno sheet? for your dyno run and a time slip for your 1/4mile? AND WAS THE 1/4 mile with NOS?

not trying to be to suspicious lol, but any idea what your wheel horespower was on the dyno run? cause flywheel is pointless?

4000 miles per year x 5 years = 20000 miles - so you cant really compare those plugs to platinums which last far far longer than that.

check out the iridium plugs from Denso.... They are excellent stuff..

Also did you know that the HKS iridium plugs are actually rebranded Denso's which cost so much less...

LOL, I'll shut up!!

I use Uranium plugs, awesome performance but I'm having trouble pressing the pedals with all the growths developing on my legs.

So much for weight saving...
