there is a specific tool for this, i needless to say left mine at XOTICRAP :(

I use a cloth and a large vise to loosen mine.

Hi Mark,

I was thinking a bit about your problem and came up with the following. It's nothing I've tried before and am not sure it will even work but it's worth a try.

If you have the crowfoot on the offending nut try and get a long bar extending from it towards the ground. Now very slowly move the car forward until the bar hits the ground and continue until either the bar breaks (in which case it's back to the drawingboard) or the nut is loosened. Again, I'm absolutely unsure if this will work but it's just a thought.

Hope you get it sorted mate.

Cheers Guys,

I have got the tool but it is made of Plastic and buckles easily when any force is applied!!

I might try heating them gently and see if that makes any diference!

Is it a nut or a bolt?

If it's a bolt it's similar to what I have.

When mine siezed the only way the garage could get it out was drill it out then replace the bolt.

If it's a nut.... your screwed????

have you tried using a large set of waterpump pliers?

Vijay

If its a bolt hit it like you would a nail, this can shock the threads and loosen them. Dont be shy, give it a few good ones.

Get one of those dirty great big plumbers monkey wrench type things, put cloth over the nut and tighten the wrench onto it and give it some welly !

Alternatively, what size is the nut ? You may be able to get a big socket and use an impact driver on it.

I had the same with my BBS RS2's. Use one of those rubber strap gizmos from Halfords - the kind that works on oil filters. Its hard to make it stay on the large nut but with a bit of perseverance it loosens the sod without damaging it.

I wouldnt apply heat though - the thread is plastic on mine.
