Well a while ago (6 weeks prob) I was talking to SRRAE

about a race with my girlfriend's brothers car (rx7 series 4 turbo). Well... It finally happened.

3 lanes, Me, rx7 and a WRX (exhaust, BOV, boost gauge so I guess it had work done).

WRX got us all for the first 5 meters then I smoked everyone!!! Got wheel spin at the top 1st (after 6,000rpm) it was cool :D

Anyway, this has been built up for ages so it was awesome! Especially since my girlfriend was backing the rx7 (traitor!)

Its nice to know that the Z still has it. The RX7 is an amazing machine but only the later models, like 1999 onwards, which still cost £25,000+ are the full 280bhp. Normally they are about 240-260, but they are very light and amazing machine.

 

 

 

Subarus are just crap all over ;)

 

 

Some one in my street is thinking of getting a Supra, I dont think he knows that much about them, just TFATF (The Fast and The Furious) watch. When he was talking at the back of my mind I was thinking, I will smoke that. Hehehehe. ;)

Is the Supra slower than the 300ZX then? I was looking to buy a Supra TT Uk Spec at the end of the year. I was under the impression it was quicker. Unless your car is modified of course?

I've raced a few Supra's of different specs and only been beaten once when I fluffed my gear change.

There is a very good write up on TwinTurbo.net about the difference between the Supra and the 300ZX. Makes interesting reading. Stock there will be very little difference between them and the difference of a driver will show. The Supra people will say its faster and bla bla bla bla bla..... ect.

 

But reading what people say about them and seeing times of them 1/4 mile when stock, they are no where near what they suposidy say they are.

I have a vid of a stock Supra against a Skyline I think it was. It's one of those Japanese programs so these are pro drivers and the 1/4 mile for the Supra was 14 seconds. Not slow but not what people say they are.

 

My Z is slightly modified yes.

I have seen a fair few of these videos too. I know which video you mean too. I think the Supra has a short 1st gear which hinders its quater mile times. However, I hear when its rolling the thing is a real monster.

 

What power and torque does a stock 300ZX dish out then? I don't really no a great deal about them to be honest. I am not even sure I know what the performance stats are for one.

 

Theres a guy on the Saxo forum who believes his Dad's Z3 M thing murders his Z, both are stock apparently.

 

I take it yours is well modded then, how do mods compare to the supra. By this I mean price against performance, and is it easy to eek out the extra horses on a Z?

Mine aint well modded but its moded enough to make a difference.

 

 

For modding there is a myth that you can hang a air freshner on the mirror and it will add another 50bph.

 

Costs are about the same until you get to the big jobs.

 

 

To get 400+bhp is easy to get in a Z.

400bhp easy, that sounds nice to me. We have clear side repeaters for an extra 75 bhp in the Saxo Sports Club! Window blockers are good for cornering too. :P:D
