Hi,

A few weeks back you might remember me asking for advice on getting my cracked windscreen reaplaced. Autoglass told me today that Nissan said the windscreen trim that needs to be replaced with the screen is now unavailable (what ever that means) - which means i cant have my windscreen replaced at the mo! Its sounds very strange but the chap at autoglass said it has happened before to other models like a volvo t70 - could not do repairs to them for 2-3 months. Anyway chap is ment to be talking to Nissan to find out what is going on! Lucky the crack is not in the danger area - so i can still drive the car....

So i dont know if he has the wrong end of the stick or nissan is talking bollox but watch out in case it is true - dont damage your windscreen!!

You have been warned ;)

Barry

autoglass are the good guys when it comes to windscreens, i've had 3 replaced in my zed since i had it....

the trim that goes across the top is a dealer only part, which they use.

i previously had two unsatisfactory replacements by silver shield, and they used a rubber strip that did not fit properly. when i mentioned it, they told me that everyone uses it...

the last change was by autoglass and the guy already knew about the dealer part, and went out of his way to make sure he had it before coming to fit

he complained about how it was a bitch to fit correctly though
