NZR : Home security question

May seem an odd place to ask this but I'm sure someone on here does security systems but can't remember who.

I have a friend who wants to get a cat. She lives alone and also wants the security of the alarm system which she already has.

Are there any motion sensors which she can use which can be set to not trip with cat movement but would pick up a human moving around ?

Cheers

That be shedworld ;)

Don't you need to use two PIR's in parallel so they both need to sense motion for the alarm to go off.

If she gets a big cat like a tiger, there will be no burglars !;) :D

LMFAO.

yes, you can get a "pet lens" which goes over the PIR. you can also mask over the lower half of the lens, or as mentioned, wire up 2 PIR's.

Cheers Paul - I've passed the info on & it's appreciated.

Are there that many criminals in Wales?

I did find this pic of the most wanted Welsch Bandito:

no probs :)

Hairsy, although pet lense`s do work in some cases it is the old fashioned way of pet sensing, you can do the same by pointing the sensor up or placing a piece of tape over the lower portion of the sensor....not very scientific to say the least.

What you really need is a new generation pet senor that uses target referencing, basically pre-programed with typical pet mass information the sensor actually cross reference the image it "sees" with its built in data and rejects any accetable targets, the sensors come in pet weights K9 40 = 40 Kilo`s K9 80 = 8O Kilo`s etc, etc

The benefits are that no creep zone is created and maximum security is maintained.

Duffer must be well below 80kg by all accounts.

I think hes below 40, according to popular belief!

Oh here we go...

...mass reduction theory coming up! :D

Tim

If its a K9 40Kilo PIR would having less MASS help you get past them faster?

Sorry I'll get me coat.:D

One word for you Rotweiller! :D ;)

That cat wouldn't dare move an inch if you had one and how many of these high tech alarms will maul their victim if it trips it? :D

I've got three for extra protection and even my neighbours feel safer having them around the 5 mile exclusion zone from my house!!! :D

Alarm makes a noise but there ain't no substitute for teeth.

P.S. my Rotties love kids, but they can't manage a whole one! ;) :D
