I have a Cobra 7928 Cat 1 alarm fitted that I have had upgraded to close the windows and throw the central locking through the 'blipper'.

The other day I went to open the door and as it opened I realised that the alarm was still on and that the door should heve been locked!

After a little bit of fiddleing I realised that although all the components appeared to be working, and making the right noises, the lock wasn't, after a couple of minutes of lock/unlock via the key in the lock and using the internal lever everything seems to be working again and the door locks with the 'blipper' again.

So the moral of this story is, check that your 'full closure' alarm is still working and don't rely on the sound of the locks activating.

My Meta alarm is terrible too. With in 3 months the cheap boot and bonnet sensors broke, both replaced and the both broke again within a few months. I bought some myself for £2 each and they are 10 times better.

Also my alarm never detected anything past my front seats. I could climb into the boot and get into the back seats without the alarm sensing me.

I'm not saying my alarm is terrible, the point I was making was that because the door locks were not being activated by the key the mechanism had become stiff/stuck so the servo for the remote locking wasn't throwing the lock.
