handbrake solanoid

i had my konis fitted bye a local garage, on top of the original rear struts there was a grey solanoid which kind of fitted on top,but the konis didnt have the attachment so the garage just left them hanging,so now everytime i put the handbrake on theres an anoying clonk from them. Will it be ok just to strap them up or do they go there for a specific reason, also ive noticed a severe amount of brake dust all over the rear of the car now,my pads a v low and will be changed tomorrow, could it be this thats causing the dust.........

dunno much about koni suspension.. but getting brake rotor wet often, using high degree brake pads and a worn brake pad gives tons of dust...

on a UK car you have adjustable rear shocks witch can be adjusted by pulling up the hand brake one notch i would disconnected them as there is now no need for them :D
