Take a cushion! Those seats are a blood killer after a couple of hours. Also, your knees will probably take a battering too!

Great laugh though!!! Enjoy!:D

Plus ,do not sit right back into seat upright, last time i went someone had terrible burns due to the heat and friction combination of race suite, and its bloody knackering, bet you ache all over,if its timed endurance do 15 mins each, then towards end you not so knackerd,so about three quarters done put the time spent racing up to 20 mins each, you then claw in a better time average, aaah, wish i was going!:( ;)

make sure you have a cusion for your back, they should hae them there, after 15 minutes of karting i was bleeding from 3 places on middle of back.

stretch as well beforehand and after coz you will hurt in the morning.

don't crash!! I hit a wall at 30mph sideways once and had trouble walking for a week where my legs were trapped under the steering wheel.

Try not to hit the apex run off lines, they cause the kart to suffer and even wreck you steering+wheels:D

I did one at 3 Sisters a few weeks ago. How long is the race?

Try to keep each person out for as long as possible. It takes time to come in the pit and change over so do the least number of changes possible.

It was great fun! 30 mins qualifying where they timed every lap and sorted the 5 teams in order of their best single lap.

My team qualified 4th, and I started on the grid but the 2nd place geyser in front had problems getting away so ended up 5th and we never came back  .

The race was 90 mins, 15 mins slots, 2 slots each.

Great fun :), twas my first go and I'd defo recommend it. Didn't get the advise about cushions etc in time but only fingers are achey this morning. Quite a few spins, one resulting in mar kart being t-boned - ouch!

Had we been more serious competitors we'd have extended our 15 mins, as pitting in seems to take ages.

Cheers

Pete

There is one at Three Sisters in September, same format as what I did a few weeks ago.

As many drivers as you want I think.

An hour practise,

10 mins Qualifying,

4 hours of racing.

If any one wants to join this it will be good fun.

The Three Sisters is a propper Kartking track and I think they use it on the UK Karting Championship too. I know a few years ago, Fisichella took Ryan Giggs round the track in a Honda 2000 for an ITV spot.
