hard starting

hi, i have a chance to get a 1990 300zx vg30 twin turbo.

the guy got it hot (dont know how hot!!), ever since then it is hard to start, and wont idle till its sorta warmed up.

it has error code 13. engine (engine temp sender??)

how do i test it?

    Error code 13.

    Its been tested and failed. Its gone and needs replacing.

    I believe it will be the yellow one positioned at the front engine in the water pipe.

     

    Ask AndyZ under his section for a good 2nd hand one.

     

    I know what you mean. I miss wired my temp sensor and the car wouldnt start. It took a lot of cranking to get it going and even then it ran crap.

    Be careful, all most every zed we see that has seriously over heated has damage to the valve seats (different expansion rate to the head) and usually have low compression on one or more cylinders this usually results in very poor cold starts, my advise is to do a compression test BEFORE buying. If the seller is reluctant either walk away or at least be prepared to take the heads off if it goes t?ts up.
