I tried to do an ECU diagnostic on my car.

Took the carpet out, removed the footboard and looked at the ECU.

It doesn't have a potentiometer or LED window.

Where those are supposed to be, my ECU just has holes.

WTF??

Is the ECU different between UK cars and imports?

Eric , it should be on the left hand side , no LED display just a small bulb that flashes red , alongside this should be the screw ( potentiometer) , not the easiest place to access witha screwdriver.

Cheers mate,

There didn't seem to be anything in those holes but I'll try and squeeze under the dash and poke around a bit more ;)

Cheers,

I've found the grey plug just above the bonnet release.

Do I short the pins on the left, or right hand side of the plug?

Bit confusing with LHD and RHD ;)

Short (joke intended) answer is don't know !!!! But it doesn't matter becaase if you look at the plug one end has a block of 2 connectors and the other a block of 4 (with the tapered corners). Once you see that you can work out which pins to short.
