Any-one recommend the best non rip-off place to buy replacement discs and pads.

Note: Replacing standard ones and retaining original alloys and callipers!!

Any advice on grooved and/or drilled with matching pads would go down well.

Cheers.

Andrew,

if replacing with standard Nissan parts then use Courtesy,I did for mine about half the price of Nissan in this bloody rip-off country!!

Cheers,

F.T.

The weight of those disks must send the postage through the roof and surely mean that you might as well buy them over here.

I had some american ebay chap who sounded pretty reputable-(probably wasn't) give me a quote of approx $270 to ship 4 discs. Thats about £160. I know there's a bit of weight to them but hmmmmmmmmm!!

Andrew,

I had pads and plugs sent over, no discs I'm arfraid so no idea of cost of postage for discs!

Got to be worth phoning and asking though?

Cheers,

F.T.

dont get green stuff pads, they r pony, not had mine long now n they r shanked, under hard brakeing i get sparks out the wheels like a firework display, they r far too soft,im gonna try yellow stuff next about £96 pound a front set from a local corner shop...

Contact 3G brakes, they do Brembo cast discs and are dealers for Redstuff ect...

they are very very good and loads of people of here have used them.

YELLOW STUFF!!

I'll stay the f'k away from you until your brakes are warmed up then, I'll be at the top of the motorway slip road with a camera to take a photo of your face when you realise you don't have any brakes! :D

I quote from EBC site: ' ALWAYS CHOOSE A PAD ADEQUATE FOR YOUR NEEDS. NEVER just choose a race compound because you think you’re a hot shot. Many/most race pads need “warm up” and don’t become effective till 350°F. NOT ideal for a stoplight situation in urban traffic. Yellowstuff is intended for short circuit races of 20 to 30 lap nature.

If you want to use EBC pads I would advise Reds and nothing else. I have used Greens, V.1 Reds and now V.2 Reds.

DO NOT USE YELLOW COMPOUND THEY ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR ROAD USE.

Tim

Course, if u got too much wonga, go for Porterfield. They're next in my Z. (pads) I believe SE do them.

Oh Yes James;) them pads are the ultimate!

Cheers for the advice boys especially 300z

Spoke to a top bloke called Al at 3g brakes and we came up with what hopefully is a much improved system over the warped and well abused items that are on at the moment.

20 grooved front disks and red stuff pads including next day delivery £275.45.

Pretty pleased with that.

Should be able to stop now!!!!!!!!:D

No prbs i had them on my car - still do have the rears on (i upgraded to the skyline r33 discs) int he front, i did a trackday on my 3g brakes and had no fade or problems with them whatsoever, very good and service is great.

I bought mine from eBay and they are fine. I got cross drilled Brembos from http://www.eliteauto.ca I actually made a mistake and assumed that because the company was in Canada then the prices were Canadian dollars, but they were US. Anyway, I still got front and rear, cross drilled Brembos for ~£220 incl. shipping.

Plus pads? how much you pay for front and back?

Can't remember exactly - I bought those dodgy GreenStuff ones from you ! LOL

as regards to those ebc brackes,i thought that yellow stuff started to work at the same temp as reds but had a higher temp rateing, please feel free to advise me if im wrong thanks......

Nope, V.2 reds work from a lower temp now, not as low as greens but you do have to warm up Yellows, and as such are just down right dangerous on a road car.

Are you running drilled or slotted disks?

Tim

drilled, but they too are not so healthy any more,in a month or so i will be replacing whole lot,not with yellow stuff i think, have u seen james300 brackes, big disks with standard calipers, how did he do that,i need advise as ive never bought a proper good set of stoppers before.....im a virgin at this haha....

Alright mate.

They came with a bracket (and a very well made one) to re-mount the caliper at the larger radius. Speak to SE about this....but be warned, it's expensive! The discs are only half the equation though..........I wasn't too impressed with the improvement by just doing the discs tbh, Skyline 6-pot calipers here I come.

HTH.

does anyone have problems with there discs going blue and slight cracks?

I have the green stuff pads with 10 groove discs from 3g and the discs are always funny colours. They where on the set before aswell.

If you go to a decent trade car parts shop, you should be able to get the brembo discs for about 50-60 sqid each.

I did, but then had to return them, as they dont do disks for the jap import NA, only all turbos.
