Just a quick one please, opinions on the pics of the rear tyres on a zed, abuse or just dangerously worn out?

Cheers

Is this another case of 'I can afford to buy the car, but don't have any money left to service it properly'.?

Gosh! Can't wait for that one ;)

wots wrong with them there's plenty life left in em....maybe the guy was like me a conservasionist and making sure he got full use out of them thereby saving mother earths dwindling resources

Those tyres are well and truly done for.

Hopefully though, this isn't related to the conversation at Johnny's (GPS) on Thursday as there is no way on this earth that those tyres were the ones given to Emero by Latz.

I've seen Emero drive and in just 2 / 3 months, or whatever it is, there simply isn't a chance she would have scrubbed them like that. The ones she received from Latz were brand new.

If that *isn't* Emero's car, then fair enough. :)

Jeff,

I am assuming that these pics are of Emero's tyres. Please correct me if I am wrong.

If this is the case it may be best to throw some light on the history of these tyres.

Around the date of 10th December 2002, Ajay was driving Emero's Zed back from GPS in Lancashire on the M6, when 4 of 5 wheel nuts sheared, causing a rear wheel to almost come off. The car was recovered to GPS. Latz replaced both rear wheels, inbcluding virtually band-new tyres. Emero has been driving on those tyres ever since, over the last three months.

Emero's car has not been right since 10th December, and so she has circumvented making long journeys in it, sometimes by borrowing my car instead. I would estimate that Emero does an average of less than 10 miles per day (all of this in town), taking her kids to school and herself to work. I would therefore estimate that she has driven a maximum of 1000 miles on those tyres.

Emero is a careful driver, who does not accelerate, nor brake sharply, nor exceed 100 mph even in perfect conditions. I have driven her car on dozens of occaisions over the last three months, and can unequivocally state that the back end did not feel right at all. Indeed, I drove the car to Jeff's last week, with Emero following in mine, because she did not feel safe driving it.

The only rational explanation that I can come up with for the state of those tyres, is that it is as a direct result of the condition of her car, resulting from the incident of 10th December 2002.

If anybody can come up with another plausible explanation of how these tyres came to be in such a shocking state, I would be very interested to hear.
