Are the electric retracting mirrors supposed to do it automatically (if the switch is on)?

    No they open when you swich em one way and close when you do it the other.

    It's a 3 position switch though. I'm convinced when I test drove mine a couple of times from the garage before bying, it would retratct the mirrors when the engine was switched off. I figured the alarm and imobiliser bought at the time of purchase had interupted the feature given the garage had made a pigs arse of everything else and just forgot about it.
