OK - this is now bugging me....

 

Ive got really badly squeaking windscreen wipers - just replaced them today as they where getting old and thought that might be the problem but no luck - the new ones squeak as well - has anyone come across this problem and found a fix? Does the windscreen need cleaning with anything special or do I need new wiper control arms or is ther any adjustment I can make???

You can stop the squeaking by cleaning the screen with de-greasant...available from Halfords etc.

 

Longer term..the best bet is to use "Rain-X" or equivalent on your windscreen, as above about 50mph on A roads and motorways, the water runs straight off the screen.You hardly ever need to use your wipers at these speeds again.

The harder the rain..the clearer your screen becomes.

The water droplets whizzing up the screen can make you feel a bit queasy at first though!;)

Well guys & gals - I've just replaced my f/wipers with those new titanium ones - and they're super and work at high speed!!!

Bloody Hell! I leave you lot alone for a day and a half with a squeakly wiper question and look what happens!!!

 

Will try some proper glass stuff and see how that goes - have tried tome rain-x stuff and it has eased it a bit - I bought some at the same time as the wipers.......

 

Now on a scale of 1 to 10 Wipers being 1 my engine has started to squeak - but only between 6pm and 8:30pm but not on Wednesdays - what can I do - sits back, smiles and crosses arms.

a SQUEAKLY wiper is a totally different matter altogether!

My tyres also give off a funny squeally noise - albeit while going round corners. Does this mean I go too fast - or not fast enough as theres still some grip left?

put a brick through the windscreen - that will sort it. the glass actually wears out as well!
