Right........I've put a new fuel regulator on, replaced the boost hoses and some of the vacuum lines. The ECU diag still gives me code 55 but my car is still mis-firing to f**k and nearly stalling every time i try to accelerate. If anyone lives near lancaster and could possibly help me then i would love them forever cos i'm getting to the stage where i ready to give up. My number is 07815915590.

Please help me.........

I have found that with mis-firing either PTU or temp sensor is to blame, most of the time. Have you checked these?

Or the usual connectors on top of the coils. Plugs ok?

Whats the story so far? what have you checked?

i've checked all the boost and vacuum lines, i've checked the air regulator as best i can, i've checked the TPS sensor. I've replaced the 4 boost pipes, some of the vacuum lines, the mass air sensor and the fuel regulator. How do i check the temp sensor, and which one?

sorry, the plugs seem ok, but i'll check them tomorrow. the thing is the car was running spot on and then 4 hours later the next time i drove it, i couldn't even make it down the road.

A few ideas and things ive come across on the adventures ive had with my Z;

Fuel pressure could be a problem, check fuel pump, i think i have a spare one you could try. Fuel filter, fuel dampener and pressure regulator aswell, filter's gotta be the first to try costing only bout £10 or so. If u can get your hands on a fuel pressure gauge as that should tell you of any pressure probs. I ordered one Wednesday..

Also check coils and injectors, not sure what results would indicate it's responsable for a misfire tho.

Is it bad and at what revs?

ah ok reading your last post (which wasnt there b4 i typed my message) it is bad.

Coolant temp sensor gave me all sorts of probs! Can you hear your little elec fan running all the time? Looked into PTU?

Same thing happened to mine with - fan on and off. Caused the car to stall and not restart when warm. I replacing the missing connector clip on the temp sensor (left connector on coolant pipe at front of engine) and that sorted it :D

Sometimes its the simplest of things... good luck mate

I've got hold of a fuel pressure gauge and the pressure stays at abou 40 psi. Removed the vacuum pipe from the regulator and the pressure went up to about 45 psi. The tech manual says this is how it should work. The coolant sensor is working fine, the fan doesn't come on, but if you pull the connector off the engine, the fan comes on and the engine will start to misfire and stall. i've noticed today that its idling and reving fine when the engine is stone cold but as soon as the engine starts to warm up then it starts to misfire and if you try to rev it when warm it starts to stall. I've been told than it could be my exaust collapsed internally? But i've never heard of that.

if you have been disconnecting plugs etc just disconnect the battery for half an hour,so that the ecu can resett it self.....especially if you have been messing with the temp sensor.........one thing to check?...has water got on top of the ecu?....this happened to mine once...

Replace the coolant temp sensor for a start - I live in preston and have a spare. If you want to pick it up let me know ;)

Yea i know but this is my 2nd MAS since christmas and this time if i get a new un from them and they fit it, if it goes again i've got the warrenty and they will have to sort it out. The others have been second hand from optimum autos, but i'm still a bit worried at how fast they are breaking.

seems a little weird that 3 of us (you, me, SMV1) have had them go within the last few days/weeks.

US was brand new with warranty.

SMW1 not SMV1
