Could I have some advice on this please.

Occasionally when I start up, the power stearing does not seem

to be working, every thing is very heavy.

This can happen when starting from hot or cold, but seems to

resolve its self after a couple of minutes.

Is this the start of a problem or have I aready got one.

This happened to me on Tuesday, been ok since though.

Sounds to me like your HICAS fluid needs topping up. In the cooler weather, it settles. Once the engine has been going a while and warmed the fluid back up, it does its job again.

Another possibility is that your speed sensor is on the blink. The Power steering is speed-variable. If your speedo occasionally plays up too then it could well be this.

Russ.

Is it a UK or Jap Z?

Im guessing Jap.

This problem is common of a speed sensor failure or speedo conversion failure.

But you said that its fine after a few mins.

Check your fluid levels.

If it's the speed sensor then the steering goes heavy at low speed and very light at high speed - total opposite of what it should be.

At speed you find you can hardly keep it in a straight line as the slightest movement of the wheel makes you wobble.
