Help !!

I tried to change the fuel tank today on my UK 300ZX TT. Got the old one off OK. But I can't get the new one on properly. The 2 straps won't stretch to the bolt hole under the bumper. You'll know what I mean if you done one before. Is there any technique involved in getting the bolt through the strap into the bolt hole. I'm about 3cm short. Any help greatfully received (and a discount on your next order!!)

Thanks

You'll find that the bolts above the rear axle are longer to allow you to pull the straps up with those but they are a real pain to get onto and a take some undoing. I would suggest visiting a local threaded fastner retailer and getting some slightly longer bolts with the same thread to pull the tank up.

Good luck Andy.

Zedhot,

thanks for the advice. I've got hundreds of spare nuts and bolts so hopefully I'll find a longer one of the same width. You would have thought Nissan would have made the bolts longer in the first place, given how tight those straps are.

I'll let you know if it works

Thanks again

Andy
