Help!! Some Sort Of Leak When Idle

Hi people, I would really appreciate any feedback you may have on this one.

Last week I parked up and after about 2 minutes with the engine off, steam started coming out from the engine somewhere below the battery. So I have just got the motor back from the garage who ran a coolant check, pressure check and a number of other tests, they said it was AOK, so I thought it might have been collected water (?) (I had Jet Washed the car that day) that had ran down onto the engine when I drove up my steep drive at home.

But I've just driven it home and the same thing has happened again, it doesn't happen straight away (about 2mins after its parked) and it steams for about 5+ mins and leaves a pool of water underneath.

What do you think this could be, coz it's really starting to p*ss me off now!!

HELP!

i recently had a small leak off one of the small rubber hoses on the back of the engine, above the N/S turbo. This would cause some steam when the turbo got hot.

The only thing, really, that you can do is to get the car on stands, start it up and check for leaks.

The hose on mine was a real b*stard to do, but it's possible.

Good luck!

Ben.

Possibility it is the condense drain from the air con dripping onto the exhaust as it is that side, try going for a drive without the air con on and see what happens.

Cheers for the advice guys, I tried it tonight without the Aircon and it still did it, so that's out of the equation.

I'm guessing that it must be something to do with a water hose/clip because it only happens when the engine is turned off so it's boiling up without the pump on and therefore the pressure increases, pushing it out through a gap. Or am I way off?...

Any other clues greatfully recieved guys and gals
