Can you tell any thing from the cars chassis number?

I am only asking as i have bought an import and am just wondering if the chassis number means anything as in year of manufacture, model. When i had my 911 the chassis number told me the year of manufacture, body style and where the car was manufactured.

I think this is right for the Jap spec cars:

GCZ32-2+2 Twin Turbo

CZ32-2+0 Twin Turbo

GZ32-2+2 Non Turbo

Z32-2+0 Non Turbo

Can't quite remeber the codes for the N/A cars but think these are right.;)

I can tell you a whole bunch of stuff if you send me the full chassis number - use email or PM.

Cheers guys. Andy i will send you my chassis number when i can get hold of it. Cheers mate. Will pm you.

Andy i cant seem to email you, can you if possible send me an email and i will reply with the chassis number.

Cheers

Ray
