Ok, I need to find out if my paranoia is getting just TOO ridiculous or not....

When you accelerate in your Zed (in normal traffic flow) do you get the turbo boost indicator to 0 or over? Mine is an auto and to keep up with normally accelerating traffic, I have to get the indicator to 0 or just over.

Is this a mark of the autos changing up as soon as possible or what? It takes me about 8-10 seconds to get from 40-50 in third without going into the plus half of the boost gauge.

Just wondering folks....come on, tell me I`m being just a little too neurotic here.....

You got something against going into the plus half of the boost gauge then? (I'd sell up and get a N/A)

Don't really get what you are saying??

What?

im not being funny right, but surely you can tell if your car is running correctly or not? if it is worrying you go to a dyno and get it checked out.

your turbos should be spooling at around 3000rpm full boost - 7psi stock. so you should be able to tell if its boosting or not?

No, no....the turbos are fine..when they are spooling its whoosh daddy!

I was wondering about pickup on a TT without using boost, that`s all. Love using the turbos but wondering what performance should be without using them.

Don't mean to sound funny here, but .....

You think too much !!!!!

I don't think anyone here would be able to tell you because the boost needle on most of our cars is hardly ever in the - section of the PSI gauge. LOL

i think i hear what your trying to get across, in mine when i just accelerate normally with no boost it feels very torquey, pulls much better than my na supra i used to have.

doesn't the trubo start applying +ive pressure when it get past 0. The reason it is negative at low revs is because the exhaust flow creates a vacuum as it's being diverted from the trubos - or am I talking bollox ?

Not another one:rolleyes:

I think duffman was right about this place!

Well surely the turbo is applying positive pressue virtually ALL the time it's spinning, it's just a question of whether is providing enough to counteract the negative (vacumn) that's already there. So all you're really doing is measuring the acceleration on say quarter or half throttle. Don't worry about it - just enjoy it !

Just the grandad in me surfacing a little too much I suppose. Sh*t, maybe I should get an N/A huh?

Thanks all
