Remove the exhaust, unscrew all 14 headlight bulbs and make sure the wheels are pointing North North East. The cambelt is located just under the driver's seat and can be changed by undoing the 4 wingnuts and putting the steering lock on.

Rain water, if you get one of those drain pipe colleting thingys then after wasing the car with real water, just pour a couple or watering cans of rain on it, hey presto no spots!!!

Doh, this wasnt a serious question was it?

ROFLLMFFFFFFAO:D Class;)

as i am new here, i've no intentions to offend anybody, and this is just a personal view to 'share'.

although this thread is VERY funny, the underlying meaning is people are posting what seems to the more technically minded, dumb ass questions - fair comment???

if i had just found this superb site, after reading this thread, would be more than a little hesitant in posting a question regarding my new pride and joy if it was not of a really meaty technical nature, say for in examply, what is 'oil pressure'.

i am sure many people own and will own these supercars, but not all have a diploma in mechanics, and would like, as the heading says 'help and advice' however stupid it may seem to others.

I posted a message on people thinking i was a lesbian and it was moved:eek: yet other nzr postings have appeared since then without moderation.

Sort of agree with you Vicky, but if you ventured onto TT.net with the sort of inane rubbish that gets posted on here you'd get your head bitten off, and the reply would be a curt 'search is your friend!'

I think, on a serious note, what we are witnessing is the Zed dropping into a different price bracket, a few years ago the purchase price of a Z32 precluded it from all but the most determined people. I seem to recall AndyP saying something along the lines of 'I bought my car at a time when you had to make a real financial commitment' (please excuse the misquote Andy) a sentiment that, I feel sums it all up.

IMHO anyone who buys a ten year old twin turbo '80s supercar should at least have a basic grasp of how an internal combustion engine works and how to carry out basic fluid checks and servicing. Otherwise, I think, you are looking at nothing but trouble. If you don't know what the warning light means...buy a bloody handbook!

There are both up and down sides to these 'new' owners, on the plus side good, unmollested, well cared for examples of the marque will be valued and sought after this, hopefully being reflected in their price. But, I think that we might also see a number of these cars being driven into the ground or into walls, and dare I say it, the insurance companies reassesing the risk and liability associated with the Zed, draw your own conclusions on that one.

Going back on topic, I think the point Andy was making is that the 300zx.co.uk forum used to be a 'fun' escape with useful, money saving and informed tech help just a click away whilst still maintaining a good level of friendly banter.

Just my thoughts....

Tim

some threads are really funny, but it can be frustrating if you really need help. It can also be easily taken the wrong way.

I think the joking in help & Advice has got a bit out of hand of late -this is probably due to boredom

Hahahaha lighten up ffs :D

Oh no! Someones posted some non tech in tech call the forum police

Sorry for trying to have a laugh and bring this place out of the depths of depravity..... Never mind your call....

Duffers,

Have you been sniffing brake fluid again??!! :D :D :D
