I'm not starting a Manual Vs Auto or UK Vs Import discussion here! ;)

What are the "true" performance times of Auto TT Zeds?

I have searched this site and seen loads of conflicting information.

Some posts say 7.5 secs to 60???

WTF! That's slower than a quick hot hatch!

Other info says they are 5.5-5.7 to 60 and Nissan say they are faster to 100 than a manual.

Also I have seen loads of different power figures showing the UK Auto is around 260BHP compaired to the US/Jap 280HP...

Is this true or just a UK Vs Import thing?

I don't mind an auto cause I like them and do lots of traffic driving, but I don't want an auto if it's going to be 2 seconds slower to 60 and have problems keeping up with a manual above that:(

Not that I'm likely to find out on the road, but it's the thought of being slower that hurts! :p

I'm hoping I'm not going to have to try and find a Jap/US manual :(

"Sasquatch foot" that made me laugh!!:D

I have actually cut down my elephant-foot brake pedal and installed item on the attachment.

Sooo comfy.

Not if you uprate the line prssures - ask Big MAC !;)

Also has a HOLD button which stops the gear changing, more useful for taking icy roads in a high gear.

Pete

Only imports have this.

where can u get those footstools from ?

Good point! I think it actually makes the car more dangerous. If the brake pedal was the normal size then I'd have hit the floor pan instead of the brake!! would have been safer.

Perhaps it's for people with sh!t co-ordination ;) :D

Saying all that, the stock brakes are so cr@p on the Zed that you need two feet to stop the fooker! especially on the auto:p :D

bwhahahah Duff knows all about using teo feet to stop a zed lmao Yababdabadooooo :D:D

And Nelson yuo can do what you want to an Auto box it still will take more transmission loss to the rear wheels than a manual box.(not starting anything here again lol)

Agreed. But gear changes are usually faster in an auto, unless you are very fast, which will probably make a bigger difference than a little power loss.

The big disadvantage of auto (as far as I am aware) is that there is a limit to how much power they can handle. ne1 know what this is ? 400, 450 BHP ?

Ok this sounds mad I know, but LittleP converted from auto/man and has now got less power:D:D:D

Not funny when you spent 2k trying to gain more bhp:rolleyes:

My car is much quicker after converting to Manual, or at least it feels a lot quicker!

Pobably got more to do with the fact it has kept the turbo / cam profile of the Auto :p

When we had the dyno day a few ears back, on average out of all the cars there the shifters were more powerful than the autos stock for stock, it showed up there.so no war lol, but just fact.

Granny Scorpio...

I loved that car!

It was so amazingly comfy :) and the car was so easy to drive.

The only problem was the seats were so wide and leather, you'd slide out of them round every bend! ;)

That's what impressed me about the Zed, the seats are lush and I don't mind doing a long journey in them :)

Maybe lol but Nitropow has proved that the auto is faster up the drag strip:p

Yes, this is true (currently) but it was on a different dyno, different day, different ECU map. However, the car does 'feel' faster, third gear is ballistic !! Anyway, I have never chased big power figures, just removed some of the restrictions from the car. Never the less, whichever dyno chart I look at there is still more power at the wheels than the standard car has at the flywheel, so it can't be all bad. And even though driving gently I have managed to trash a standard clutch already ! :(

F.T.

Nah, got an eff-off new one being delivered in a few days, with enough clamping force to even hold a tweaked auto engine ! ;)

LMAO:D you better get to the gym then, you will never press the bastard pedal:D:D:D

LOL

Oops ;)

So lets get this right.

When I go to look at this UK Auto tomorrow, what can I expect?

Transmission

A power button = Makes it go fast!

Overdrive? = Does something for motorway driving?

No hold button = Would make it go slow!

Lifting up the handbrake = stiffens the rear suspension (or slows the car down ;) )

Toys

Folding mirrors

Leccy seat = Drivers side only?

Auto or manual climate control

A tape HU and a seperate CD HU (What is the standard ICE like?)

HICAS

etc...

Anything else to warrant getting a UK over an import?

Oh and it's white...

Not my fave colour as standard but modded....

This is what I will get it looking like... :D:D:D:D

lushwhitezx.jpg

Thank you that's an excellent site :D

Eric,

Hate to disapoint you, but if your looking at a UK car, you'll get no Power or Hold feature on the gearbox, the mirrors won't fold in, and it'll probably have lots of lovely british weather rust!!! lol.

Buy an import, they're cheaper, and you can get the proper 2 seater, short arse wheel base version!!

:D :D :D
