I buy all mine on eBay - cheapest by far, make sure you check 'available to the UK'.

 

Bought a 512Mb v.II CF card on Friday for £98 all in, exactly the same as Jessops sell for £299.00!

Depends on the camera really Mark. Most new cameras take either SmartMedia (SM), Compact Flash (CF) or Secure Digital (SD) cards - oh, except Sony, that take their own proprietory MemoryStick sticks..

 

A lot of cameras have an upper limit to the size card they'll use - I think most newer cameras are probably 128Mb, apart from the real expensive ones like Tim's (coz he's got too much money, ain't that right, Tim?) that'll take huge cards.

 

Your camera manual ought to tell you which technology to choose (some can take several types of card), and the maximum capacity, somewhere..

 

Then you can just choose any make of that kind of card, as lots of different manufacturers make SmartMedia cards, for example (they are all open technologies, apart from MemoryStick).

You have to find which one it takes. 80% of them take Smart media, which is abou the size of a 50p, but square :D

 

What does your memory look like?

This is Smart Media.

This is a Sony Memory Stick. But others use it too.

This is Compact Flash Media.

This is Multimedia Memory Which is used mostly in MP3 players.
