Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew any sites, links, guides on swapping a JDM VG30DETT into a N/A.

I'm almost to the point of purchasing an NA here (US) but I want to find out more details on this swap before I plunk down and get it.

Thanks,

Hi,

Unless having a 2+2 TT or slicktop or convertible TT is your hearts desire, its not worth it the extra hassle and money! Just wait around for a good TT to come up for sale!

Well....

The major idea is that I can pickup a Z32 here in the states for less than $3000, and for another $3000 or so, swap a low miles JDM spec TT into it. Any used TT in the states won't be less than $7000, unless it's got a ton of miles or the engine is going to die.

Thanks for the articles you sent, I can probably gleen enough information to see if there are any potential problems with an engine swap.

Yes, at $3000 the clip is a fair price, but also remember to factor in the resale of the NA and components. I'm sure to recoup some of the costs. Doing it this way, the cost will not be the $6000 quoted in the articles, but MUCH cheaper.

I am planning on buying the car this summer, then working on the handling / asthetic issues. I will most likely buy the engine when the snow falls, and work on the car while it's off the road. I already have a nice 83 prelude as my winter car.

Look for my tutorial next year. hehe

A while back we had one of those threads about where people got their forum names. Well seeing yours has made me want to start that off again - its a cracker !

lol, thanks. I've had this nickname since 1995. It's my art nick for a internet based art group, iCE. (check out http://www.ice.org for some purty eye-candy) I think this nick will stick with me for a bit, seeing the time I have invested into it.
