Hi folks!

Ok, went to have a look/test drive of a 200SX - it was sold. Cue salesman to ask "what about a 300ZX? they're a lot more fun."... One LONG test drive later (on my own  ) and I'm hooked!

It was an Import 2 seater targa TT, red, standard - new auto box and 55k miles...

Question - before I go hand over some cash, is there anything in particular to look for on these cars?... also, what about a lot of the Jap import/dealers here in the South west - any to avoid, or any to head straight to??

Help much appreciated folks......

JFF :D

before you hand over the cash.. I suggest you get your hands on a manual... you'll be addicted... :) (from a personal experience)

Cheers! - that link was nice ' ne helpful - have a better idea what to look for now... of for another look and drive tomorrow...:D

You managed to find one in the South West?

Jammey get, I'm still looking :(

...pure luck I'm afraid... still, the cash is taking longer to get together than I thought, so starting to get a bit nervous now!!!... gonna have to offer 'im some money to hide it methinks!!

you had a look at the place off M4 J13??... what about the outfir in Bristol - they not have any??

JFF;)

Zs in Bristol are rarer than rocking horse *you know what*!

There's one for sale private and it's a bit pricey for the milage.

Don't really want private anyway, if anything goes wrong I'd be screwed!

What's the place of the M4?

M4 J13... go thru Newbury blah blah... http://www.vbjapan.com (directions on the site) only been a couple of times a while back, but seem pretty up front and genuine about things, hand you over the keys for the test drive so you can do what you want... they've a red TT import in there now - paint needs cleaned up o/s rear, but seems ok other than that.. think it has a new auto box also RAC inspections'n stuff included, so a bit of back up if you need it. Will source a car for you too....

Dunno if anyone else has dealt with these guys??

Worth a look anyway.....:D

Marc:)

Yup deffo... come hell or high water I'll have one soon... also got my eye on a black TT, its still in Japan though - looks the biz, standard but bit sceptical about waiting for it to come then it might be crap to drive or whatever (doubt it but you never know - similar thing happened with a ZXR400 coupla years ago  )

JFF

You gotta get a black one mines black just had windows tinted looks awsome just dont rush into buying one there are loads of shitters out there

I imported a GSXR 750 02 last year from holland got a great deal saved nearly £2000;)

Marc

I've been there a few times in the past.

Found their cars to be overpriced and a little tatty for my liking, but hey, what the hell as long as the salesman is nice!!

Cheers,

F.T.

P.S.

If you want a hand or anything I can help with,I live not far away.

Jeez - just moved back here from Holland - lived there 2yrs... bought a luverly ZX6R... same afternoon some f*&%ker in a van reversed over it outside MiccyD's n killed it... hadn't even had time to insure it either - burger was crap too!!!

ft - cheers, I may well take you up on that... so far I managed to knock him down a grand (thinking of a respray y'see!)... so we'll see what the nice man says confronted by some cash - if its still there :D

By the way, what the hell is the Hold- A/T-Power button for? Power I can suss, but Hold???

JFF

I dunno,I've got a manual.

But there are quite a few peeps on here with autos, who I'm sure will let you know.

Cheers,

F.T.

It just holds the revs back basically if you put your foot down it dont pick up as quickly its good to use in the wet and when driving round town and you dont wanna use to much petrol

Marc:)

Ahh, makes sense I guess... have to say, was well impressed with the performance of these things - owned a few quick cars in my time, but nothing like this!!!

D'you guys have a lot of meets down this way then?

Yeah once you own one you wont wanna let it go!!

F.T is trying to organise a meet at the moment around the south

but there are always local meets going no just keep checking the EVENTS&MEETS section there is a big jap car meet at the end of april in bolney just off the M23 try and get down there!!
