Anyone know if a speedo cluster from a Series II manual will work in a Series I Auto?

Thanks :)

As I direct swap? No!

The connectors on the back of the dash are different sized.

How ever you can take the dials out of the series 2 and put them into the series 1 dash.

I had this problem when I bought a new dash cos my speedo died. I got an L reg 94 one and it didnt fit, so I just swapped over the dials.

is it difficult to change the dials over? If ive learned one lesson, its DONT TOUCH THE GOD DAMN NEEDLES!! :D

It's not too hard to swap the dails over, they unscrew as separate pieces from the rear when you remove the plastic cover at the front.

Yep, really easy to change. Each unit held in by its own screws. Grief only usually happens when changing the faces on the dials for aftermarket ones if you have chubby unsteady fingers!!

The only dial you shouldnt move is the petrol, you can move the others just dont spin them round and round. There is a adjustment screw on the boost one actually so it goes in the middle when you turn the ignition on. But its crap anyway.
