would it be possible to modify the 300 to have cylinder deactivation of 3 of the 6 cylinders while cruising to save fuel ? this could be manually chosen, or automatically activated.

I have been on the 200 sx board, The boys on there are really great, and have actually met some off them. And non of them are anything like you thank god.

 

And as for talking shyte, well your the expert on that score so I suppose you should be able to recognise it, when it is being returned to you.

That's not strictly true - there IS reduced performance. You just do it when there's no need for extra performance.

 

It's a bit like saying you don't get reduced performance when you take your foot off the accelerator.

 

Still a interesting thread which satisfied my need for entertainment on a Friday afternoon which I sought by searching for "Nelson Mainfella".

 

And, Nelson, if you wanted to try it then it would very simple to set up a 3 pole switch to disable 3 injectors. Just make sure that they are alternate firers though.

 

It might be less lumpy than people might think. Although it's not what I'd choose to do with my own car !

we could try this theory with Tooley.

 

Simply line up 6 bongs in a vee and get him to toke on them each in turn until he passes out/demands pizza.

 

Then remove or block up 3 of the bongs or indeed fill them with a placebo and see if there is any reduction in Tooleys stonedness.

 

You can use the pizza as a control in your experiment. Just make sure it has no anchovies or things could get messy.
