Hi everyone, just a quick ask.

As part of my work I have to go away quite regularly. On average it is normally only for about 1 month at a time. With my previous cars there haven't been any particular issues with leaving them for the duration, but aware these cars are a fair bit older and I guess can have more issues.
Is there anything you think would be worth buying or doing with the car so that it hopefully turns over fine when I get back?
As I said probably around a month at a time, anything pushing 3 months or more I'll leave it with my parents to take out for a spin every so often but I can't keep dropping it on their driveway especially as the 1 month moves can be quite short notice.

If you have got power (mains) where you store the car, get yourself a battery conditioner/charger. Something like a CTEK which can be left connected for long periods.

Sadly it won't be near any mains connections. Will be left in a secure parking area, but not anywhere near plugs.

I'm thinking might just need to get a good quality battery charger/jumpstart things...I have no idea what the name is but I had one when I lived in Africa for the Land Cruiser.
I would rather stop the issue from coming up, but if not possible at least that 'fixes' it again.

Would the battery dying likely be the main problem I would run into, the rest of the car holding up pretty fine otherwise?

Battery aside - Your Z won't develop any new issues just sitting around for a month or more. I think many owners these days have their Z's sitting static through the whole winter.

If it's in secure parking, I would disconnect the battery.

A month is fine - you won't (or shouldn't) have any issues. The longest I have left mine is 6 weeks....

Simple dos and don'ts:

Don't just start the engine and let it idle for a bit; it's bad for most cars, not just a 300zx - if you start it, drive it straight away
If it's locked in the garage, don't arm your alarm! This will drain the battery over a month - if you have a cat-1 system the immobiliser will be active anyway.

You could disconnect the battery - I never bother as I don't want to keep programming my radio - and if the battery is in good condition it should be fine connected.

But you can always invest in a Ring Ultra Boost jump starter, just in case.
